The Age Of Loneliness
Vamberator

2025 – UP012/UPLP012
Age of Loneliness is the expansive and genre-defying debut album from Vamberator, the new collaboration between Jem Tayle (of Shelleyan Orphan) and Boris Williams (former drummer of The Cure).
Born out of a lifelong musical kinship and shaped in the shadow of grief following the loss of Caroline Crawley — Tayle’s former bandmate and close friend — the album channels themes of absence, transformation, and emotional renewal. Drawing from an eclectic mix of influences spanning funk, soul, glam rock, art pop, psychedelia and chamber music, the album showcases Tayle’s distinctive songwriting and arrangements, paired with Williams’ elegant, intuitive drumming.
While its title suggests solitude and loss, Age of Loneliness is also vibrant, theatrical, and at times wildly playful—populated by creatures, characters, and surreal flights of imagination. Featuring a wide ensemble of collaborators and lush instrumentation, it is both a tribute to the past and a bold new artistic beginning: a magical, funky, and deeply personal sonic journey.
