Le neuvième ordre is a tribute to the feminine universe. François Couperin, the brilliant composer at the court of Louis XIV, collected his music into what he called “Ordres”: he was one of the first great musicians to give each of his compositions a title, evoking an image, an atmosphere, or a human trait.
This album is a collection of nine piano compositions I wrote as an homage to womanhood in all its uniqueness and inimitability — virtues, weaknesses, regrets, dreams.
