Gloyw is a new band featuring French guitar virtuoso and composer Olivier Mellano alongside the remarkable drummer Régis Boulard. The two already perform as a duo under the name No&Rd, whose debut album One was released in 2021 (Unifaun Productions UP007). The duo has now joined forces with the acclaimed Welsh (but long-time Parisian) bassist and composer John Greaves, well known to our audience for numerous releases on our label, and of course as an original member of Henry Cow, National Health, and others.
The music, some original and some improvised, delivers a powerful, innovative, and original sound. While their rich musical backgrounds and noble influences are evident, the band’s sound remains fresh and unlike anything else.
My Father Was A Tree is composed of nine original tracks and a fantastic cover of John Lennon’s Working Class Hero.
